Testosterone level test

Testosterone is a sex hormone that is secreted in the testicles of men. Women also produce a smaller amount of testosterone in the ovaries. The hormone has a great importance in both men and women, through its influence on, among other things, sex drive, the ability to build or maintain muscle, bones, fertility, but also general well-being. Primarily measured testosterone to investigate symptoms, but it can also be analyzed to ensure optimal conditions for muscle growth and athletic performance. Women with symptoms of hormonal disorders may also need to test their testosterone levels. High levels of testosterone in a woman indicate Hyperandrogenism, an endocrine condition that can make it difficult to get pregnant.

How is the test done?

Our testosterone test is performed through a simple saliva sample that you take yourself at home. For an accurate result, the saliva test should be performed before 10:00 in the morning and on an empty stomach. Please note that food intake and/or sampling later in the day may reduce levels by more than 30 percent. Once sample collection is complete, mail the sample using the pre-paid envelope to our ISO-certified laboratory for analysis. Once your sample is analyzed, you will receive your test results digitally.
