Sperm test for male fertility

Now you can examine your own sperm production with the help of a home test. Quicktest sperm test is a fertility test for men that makes it possible to determine after just a few minutes whether the man's sperm production is normal or impaired. The test is performed at home in peace and relax at home, of course completely privately. Sperm is added to a special liquid, then the mixture is dripped into a test cassette, after a few minutes the result can be read. This self-test gives a positive result (you have normal levels) when the sperm concentration is above 15 million/ml in semen. This level is internationally accepted as the lowest level of sperm for normal fertility. A low sperm concentration could indicate difficulties in fertilization. It is then recommended that you contact your doctor who can advise you on what can be done to improve sperm concentration. The sperm sample has a reliability of more than 97% in the event of a positive result.

Infertility in men

The clinical definition of infertility is based on a couple's inability to achieve conception after 12 months of unprotected regular intercourse. Up to 15% of couples experience infertility and within this group, approximately 40-50% of infertility is caused by problems with the sperm. Sperm concentration is one of the primary factors used by doctors to diagnose male infertility. There can be several reasons for male infertility and the inability to fertilize the female egg. A common cause is an abnormally low production of viable sperm. Medical or physical conditions can also interfere with normal sperm production, including high stress, high fever or illness experienced within two months prior to testing, and sudden changes in diet. Taking this initial screening test can indicate if there is a low amount of sperm production.

The concentration of viable and active sperm is one of the most important factors doctors examine when trying to understand and potentially diagnose male infertility.
